Mohamaya Lake
Mohamaya lake lies beside Dhaka-Chittagong highway. It takes 90 minutes drive from the Chittagong city. A cal and quite place for a family picnic and a relaxing Kayaking on the lake. Mohamaya Irrigation project is the second-largest man-made lake constructed in Bangladesh after Kaptai lake.The government is in the process of making large-scale investment plans to turn Mohamaya, an eye-catching hillside lake in Mirsarai, into a tourism hotspot. Mohamaya Lake is located in mirsharai Chittagong.
A rubber dam is built to preserve the water from the three main streams from the hillocks nearby. There are lot of boats at the shore with different sizes and shapes. Travelers having a small sized group can use public boat service with shared basis. Each boat can take around 30-40 person.
How to Go:
No matter from where you are coming, just get dropped at the Mostan Nogor of Dhaka-Chittagong highway. From there take any CNG driven auto rickshaw and it will drop you near to the Mohamaya Project. It will cost you around 100 Taka or more. Though the place is very near from there, but you have to count that amount from your Pocket. Also for your information, you may have to use your feet while returning back.
